POSTELL, THE, NJROTC INSTRUCTORS, GOT TOGETHER AND WORKED ON A SOLUTION TO THE PLAN, AND ONE OF THE SOLUTION THAT THEY CAME UP WITH WAS TO SEEK MEMBERSHIP IN THE SCABBARD AND BLADE HONOR SOCIETY, WHICH IS A AN HONOR SOCIETY FOR NJROTC AND JUNIOR ROTC CADETS.MOST I CAN'T LEAVE WAGENER-SALLEY OUT, OKAY, WE HAVE ARMY ROTC THERE.
BUT FOR JUNIOR ROTC STUDENTS AND I JUST WANT TO READ YOU THEIR MISSION.
THOSE FIVE STAR QUALITIES ARE HONOR, LEADERSHIP, PROFESSIONALISM, OFFICERSHIP, AND UNITY, AND WE BELIEVE THAT AFFILIATION WITH THE, SCABBARD AND BLADE HONOR SOCIETY WILL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF OUR CURRENT EXPECTATIONS FOR GRADUATION REGALIA, WHICH WHICH INVOLVES HONOR SOCIETIES AND OTHER OTHER RECOGNITIONS. BUT IT'S ALSO WILL ADDRESS THE COMMUNITY AND STUDENT INTEREST THAT WE'VE SEEN IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS.
STUDENTS HAVE TO BE MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING OF THEIR ROTC UNITS.
WE HAVE SUPPORT FROM SOME POTENTIAL LOCAL SPONSORS.
COLONEL DAVIS HAS WORKED WITH THEM AND WITH OTHERS.
WE'VE TALKED TO SOME OF THE FOLKS.
LOWELL KOPPERT, WHO WAS HERE AND SPOKE AT THE RECENT MEETING.
HE'S VERY INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING WITH THIS, AND I'M SURE SEVERAL OTHERS WOULD BE AS WELL.
WE WOULD BE LOOKING AT THE CRITERIA FOR MEMBERSHIP AND THEN BE ABLE TO HAVE AN INDUCTION CEREMONY THIS SPRING, WHICH WOULD ALLOW FOR OUR CURRENT SENIORS TO RECEIVE THAT RECOGNITION, WHICH WOULD INCLUDE A CERTIFICATE, A MEDAL, AND ALSO THE, THE HONOR CORD FOR GRADUATION.
BUT THEN CRITERIA WOULD BE PUT IN PLACE ON AN ONGOING BASIS FOR BOTH FRESHMAN AND SOPHOMORE STUDENTS, BUT THEN AT A AT A HIGHER LEVEL FOR OUR JUNIOR AND SENIOR STUDENTS WHO ARE IN ROTC.
SO THAT'S BASICALLY THE DIRECTION THAT, THAT WE ARE GOING IN AND WE ARE OPEN TO ANY QUESTIONS, SUGGESTIONS OR ANY OTHER COMMENTS FROM FROM THE BOARD.
